DENMARK VIA BOSTON - So this was a completely self-centered trip to a show. And I'm extremely glad I was able to drag photographer Mark Jenko along to see Figurines play here in Boston. I had a great time sipping on whiskey, reminiscing with the band about their early Boston shows. I saw them play twice once each in 2007/2008. (I recall seeing Figurines share stages with Tapes 'N Tapes, Sound Team [R.I.P] and Cold War Kids.) Got to hear the band play one of my favorite songs of that era, ("The Rivalry") and the new material proved to be quite excellent - more than worthy of a look and a listen.
Another pleasant surprise that evening? Watching Figurines' tour-mates, Pomegranates, rip it up on the Brighton Music Hall stage as well... A great night of music here in Boston.
