Cocaine Country Dancing by Paul Cauthen
New & Amazing - You'll have to wait until September to hear all of Room 41, the new record from Paul Cauthen. The two-year process of crafting those songs and bringing them to life was a taxing affair. Cauthen wrote many of these songs living out of a Texas hotel room as he prepared and awaited the rest of his life.
Cauthen has been a wicked purveyor of stories in mixed genres for years now. Well-steeped in country and stories of blue-collar woes, he also executes mighty well in the circles of soul and rock. None of those skills are wasted here. On the new one, "Cocaine County Dancing," Cauthen springs into action, signalling ahead that Room 41 could be one of the year's best releases. There's a lot to look forward to.
Roll up to the club in my 1964 caddy
Straight ready to stunt
At a quarter to one
Just a looking for fun
I’ll twist for ya baby
Hit a rip for ya baby
Take another shot, get lit for ya baby
Ew wee it’s a quarter till two
What you wanna do?
Cocaine country dancing with you
I think a bit of cocaine country dancing will do
Come on let’s get it going, only you can keep me rolling
At a quarter till three, you know what I need
I’ll twist for ya baby
Hit a rip for ya baby
Take another shot get lit for ya baby
Ew wee it’s a quarter till 4
Do we have any more?
Cocaine country dancing with you
I think a bit of cocaine country dancing will do
It’s a quarter till one, been looking for fun
It’s a quarter till two, what you wanna do
It’s a quarter till three, you know what I need
It’s a quarter till four, do we have anymore
Cocaine country dancing with you
Dancing with you
I think a bit of cocaine country dancing will do
Cocaine country dancing with you
Dancing with you
