Post Punk Soul & The Rebirth of Cool

Live Shows Like Fireworks
Bands You Simply Must Know

Performing gospel and soul standards, modern originals and covering the likes of Wilco and the Beastie Boys... What does post-punk soul look like? Six and a half feet of raw emotion and sweat, with one leather boot planted in gutsy R&B, the other in taut minimalist grind. Snarling at the crowd beneath an afro pompadour, while indulging in a sly wink, singing to you directly, and here to make you dance. What does post-punk soul look like? It looks like JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound...

JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound

GOOD FRIENDS / SWEET SOUNDS - We were absolutely delighted to bring you this band of Chicago hotshots at The Outlaw Roadshow in Austin last SxSW. They had the room lit up like a Christmas tree by 3pm, the real deal in every way! Several people told me this was their favorite act of the 19 bands they saw at our Texas show this year. Find out why.

The Met Cafe show doesn't seem to be happening. I went to their site and there are other bands playing all this week. I was tempted to check them out there, but when i went to their site, no such luck. Just a note if someone wants to update.
