Decemberists

Cool New Music Video
A Series of Photographs

Very excited to share the news today on one of our favorite bands. Decemberists see their new album, The King is Dead, released today. And with it - the details of the Autumn de Wilde [photo album] of the band (including the dramatic video below - consisting of animated stills and transition slides) which helps set tone for this important juncture in the band's existence. You need to buy this ticket and take the journey. One of the very best contemporary bands...

The Decemberists have announced a live video webcast hosted by NPR Music and Oregon Public Broadcasting taking place tomorrow Wednesday, January 19 at 12:00pm PT/3:00pm ET. The hour-long set will include a very special performance and interview before an intimate audience at OPB's studios in the band's hometown of Portland, Oregon, and will be webcast at http://www.npr.org/music/. This will mark the first extended live performance of material from The Decemberists' acclaimed new album The King Is Dead, which was released today on EMI's Capitol Records, and yesterday on Rough Trade Records in the UK and Europe.

After celebrating the album's release in Portland, the band will head to Los Angeles to perform "Down by the Water" on NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on January 20. The song has become the highest charting radio single of their career thus far, cracking the top 10 on the AAA radio charts and still climbing. The band then heads to New York City to kick off the first leg of their North American tour with an impressive three-night stand at New York City's Beacon Theater (January 24-26). Shows in New York, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Portland have already sold out.
