PHOTOS FROM AUSTIN - With echoes of indie rock past and present, James Mercer (the Shins) and Dangermouse (Gnarls Barkley, producer of The Black Keys, Beck) played before appreciative audiences at SxSW this year. We actually saw them twice. First was at the NPR Party at Stubbs on St Patrick's Day (photos here) and later at The MOG Party at Mohawk on 3/20. During both occasions, Mercer and Dangermouse's distinct lineages of these two acts combine to form one of the most dynamic sounds on stage right now as evidenced by their new album. Here's the first single, "The High Road." A limited number of Summer dates for this indie rock super group are listed after the jump. One word of advice to our readers? Endeavours have proven to be fleeting bits of fancy, catch 'em while they are still a band...
