Mission of Burma - The New Album and a Free Boston Show

New Songs From one of our Favorites!
The New Record from MISSION OF BURMA

Mission of Burma / Legendary

A NEW RECORD - On October 6, Mission of Burma will release 'The Sound The Speed The Light' - their third record of this decade (their fifth album, overall.). The 12-song LP was recorded right here in Boston with the recording and production work being credited to Bob Weston (The Obliterati - 2006). The record's 12 tracks were crafted in sessions or suites. Each session focuses on a thought Each suite explores a set of moods or colors, across the usual dizzying array of lyrical topics, from alcoholism to "fleshly concerns." [Ed's note: Take a listen here on the Matador Records website. If you are so-inclined (as we are), you can pre-order this number so the new record will arrive at your door, right on time.]

WMBR RADIO hosts a free outdoor show (all-weather/rain or shine) this Sunday, October 4th on the MIT Campus. East Campus Courtyard, 3 Ames Street. Click here to see a Google Map of the location.

This one is an afternoon show, absolutely free and open to the public! If you have never seen a Mission of Burma show for yourself before, this is a terrific opportunity! There are two opening acts: New Haven's EULA and Boston's own BIG BEAR. Bands competed in a music video contest for the chance to appear on the bill. Here are all the band entries for the Battle for Burma contest.

If you are going to be around on Sunday, we recommend you check this one out! According to Reps, Newbury Comics will be at the show to sell the new Mission Of Burma album, The Sound The Speed The Light, two days before you can buy it in stores.
