Raphael Saadiq - The Way I See It

He Wuz Robbed: I am nothing if not brutally honest and I don't care how good the other candidates were, Raphael Saadiq (three Grammy nominations) should have won at least one damn award during tonight's ceremonies. I'm not terribly versed with contemporary R&B or Soul, but it's impossible for me to think that this guy isn't the best in his field right now. If you're not familiar with Raphael or his must-have 2008 record, The Way I See It, then take a minute to check this out.....

the amazing Raphael Saadiq

Completely Authentic and Sample-Free: Saadiq wrote, produced, arranged and performed the flawless grooves (drums, bass and guitar) and effervescent vocals on every song on The Way I See It. The record is the real deal and a shoe-in (in my eyes, at least) for best R&B/Soul album of 2008.

A Look into his past: Saadiq learned to play guitar, drums and bass by the age of six, and was singing with a professional gospel group at nine. Saadiq toured with Prince and Sheila E and was a member of Tony! Toni! Toné!, as well as acclaimed producer of artists like Joss Stone, D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, The Roots, Snoop Dogg, and John Legend (who he toured with last year.)
